Tooth-Colored Fillings

The process for tooth colored fillings is only slightly different than that for the amalgam fillings you may already have. In a single office visit, our dentists will remove decay from your tooth, and roughen the area inside the cavity to provide a surface which the resin can bond to. From there, the tooth colored filling will be placed into the cavity, and cured with a special light that allows it to harden and bond to your existing tooth structure.

This quick, painless process will help prevent further decay, reduce the pain associated with cavities, and retain the naturally beautiful look of your smile. What’s more, tooth colored fillings are not reserved for new cavities only. If you would like to replace your metal fillings with fillings that match the natural color of your teeth, we can do that, too.

Tooth colored fillings offer several benefits over amalgam fillings. Some of the benefits of tooth colored fillings are:

  • They are bonded to the teeth for stability
  • They will not expand and contract with heat or pressure fluctuations in the mouth
  • They are matched to the color of your teeth, providing superior aesthetic results
  • They are resistant to stains and discoloration
